The Bloggest Loser -- Week Three

Josh's weight loss of 1.08% was the winner of last week's competition. Good job, Baby!

Calculate your weight loss. Remember to use your current weight from last week as your start weight this week. And be prepared to tell me about your week!

This week was one of the toughest I've had.

Despite the wonderful news that our house has finally closed, my body has revolted against me. It's as if all the stress I've been feeling about everything lately has just hit me like a ton of bricks. And because of that, I now weigh as much as a ton of bricks. I had a 4 lb weight gain this week. I'm pretty sure most of that is water, which better give me a wickedly good weight loss for next week. Well, that and my new devotion to being healthy. I had to find some new motivation, so I dug this photo out.

This is me, May 2006. I know it's from four years ago, but when you're a fatty, it's hard to find any pictures of you. Somehow, the bigger you are, the better you become at avoiding the camera. I stayed this size until January 2008 when I began working out. It's hard to tell, but I was about 196 lbs. So, in the last year and a half I have lost 18.37% of my weight. Unfortunately, I've been at a plateau for about a year. A YEAR! I'm considering doing something drastic -- I might actually use a diet plan. Or join a gym. Or {gulp} find a hobby that will allow me to focus on myself so I don't have to feel like food is the only thing I can give myself.

On with the show. I love make-over week on BL. It is my favorite week of the season. Everyone looked so great and they looked so happy. I especially loved watching Mike and Daris. I think Daris is my pick to win. I really hope he does. Every week I root for him more and more. And what about Sam leaving? Did anyone guess he was the one that Stephanie was talking about when she left? I didn't. But, I can't help but wonder about why Koli went to Ashley about Stephanie playing the game against Ashley's mom, Sherry. (I feel like I'm talking about a soap opera.) That really bugged me that he did that, since it seemed to come out of nowhere. Now I can't help but wonder if Koli was trying to protect Sam by getting his love interest off the ranch so he would focus on the game and not her. Hmm. Anyway, almost to the Final Four. Who do you pick to win it?

So tell me how you did this week. Better than me, I hope. Anything that's working particularly well? Anything you've realized has to be done differently?

Ok I am back---I lost .5 pounds or a total of .38%

I ate horrible, and didn't work out, but I ate less then normal. That has worked so far---
I have done yard work this week and my arms are getting stronger, I can now SEE my muscles--kind of exciting! I am about 10 pounds from my goal weight, but I figured out my weight isn't that important--it is my waist line (my belly pooch) that I really want to get rid of--I know that will ONLY happen with cardio---so my goal AGAIN this week--Work out 3 times--I want to combine cardio (25 minutes) with light weights---
Heres to another week!

WOWZERS! I lost a whopping 0.18%. I guess I would be voted off today before I even really get started. Good thing you don't have it set up that way. I am committed to lose more this week though. I plan on hitting the gym a couple days, going on walks and playing volleyball on Thurs. So here is to another week. I hope you are all having a wonderful Mother's Day and don't beat yourselves up.

I gained 1.5 pounds.
I lose.
I did drink 100 oz. of water each day. I walked at least 2 miles all but one day. Went dancing once. And I had seconds on only one meal.
I'll be walking a whole lot this week; my car is in the shop. Yay!

Okay, this week didn't go so well for me. I did not exercise like I wanted and my portion control slipped a little. I am still carbonated beverage free (which is a continual temptation) and feel good about that.

I am down again this week, but am not feeling the weight loss in my body or the fit of my clothes. I NEED to work out, but always seem to have some excuse..."Oh I worked 60 + hours this week", "Oh, I had other things that NEEDED to be done". One day I'll stop giving myself excuses, stop eating ice cream cake while watching Biggest Loser, and get my butt working.

I weighed 321.0 last week. My weight loss this week is 318.0. This equals a 0.93% weight loss, which as Shelly points out is not enough to beat Cindy. Congrats Cindy, Kevin, and Baby Tommy!!!

Ok, I think I re-lost that original 1/2 pound again. So, I'm at .42% loss. Let's see if I can really keep it off! I exercised 3 days this week, and was deathly ill with a stomach virus on Saturday. I'm sure I made up for my non-caloric intake that day with the Mother's Day angel food cake I ate Sunday.

I feel like one of those contestants who is whining because they didn't lose double digits in 7 days... I only lost 2.45% since Friday morning and only 4 inches off my waist! I know I should be happy with that, but I'm still puffy with water and the gut ain't pretty! :) My battle can't really begin for a few more weeks, but the first step has been taken!!

1.72% weight loss. Woo hoo!

I attribute a good week to something counter-intuitive... eating more. I think you know, I'm doing Weight Watchers. I was trying to speed up the process and eat fewer than my daily allowance points. But after awhile of being at a bit of a plateau, my instructor asked if I was eating all my points. When I told her I wasn't, she almost smacked me! She explained that when you don't eat the calories that your body needs, it goes into starvation mode, stores fat, and doesn't allow the metabolism to work correctly. I was hardly starving myself, I was eating 1100 calories a day.... But she said that for my age, height, etc, I needed to eat the amount that the plan told me (27 points is about 1350 calories, give or take depending on fiber and fat grams). Anyway, I attribute this week's success to eating MORE. Crazy!

Now, oye, this week I'm going on vacation. Crossing my fingers and toes that I can stick to it! I'm going with my MIL, though, who's also doing WW.... hopefully we'll help each other keep on track!

I forgot to check my weight at the end of the week, but I can tell you that my Mii character on my Wii fit had an age of 43 (Yikes!) and a BMI of 25.something (overweight range), weighing in at 166 on Sunday. Today, my Mii was 27 yrs old, at a BMI of 24.something (normal range), and my weight was down to 164. I felt much better about myself and Mii today. :)
