JOYISNOWHERE

Tonight I went to Enrichment Night. Enrichment is an activity for the women at church to come together and be invigorated, or enriched. We were celebrating the birthday of the women's organization at church called Relief Society. The Relief Society was organized in 1842 (I think) to provide relief for others, both temporal and spiritual. It's an incredible organization, and I love being a part of it.

To celebrate Relief Society's birthday, we had a guest speaker named Martha Jones who is a Laughing Yoga Specialist. Everyone was a little nervous about what this yoga was going to be like. I had an idea that it wasn't going to be anything like the Power Yoga I do everyday. No Downward Dogs. What we did was use breathing techniques to prepare us for the different ways we laughed. It was so fun. We had to simulate a call on the phone, not using words, but laughing. We had to argue with people around us only using laughter (so hard!). My favorite was when we had to giggle like little girls telling secrets. I've always loved giggling. This whole thing loudly reminded me that I have a belly laugh. I've also been told that I have a Betty Rubble laugh.

Ah, you've got to love a cartoon with a dubbed in laugh track. Anyway, it was such a fun night. I love getting together with the other women from church and being a part of the Relief Society.

Oh, as for the title of this post. Joy is a matter of perspective. Did you read that as

Joy Is No Where
or
Joy Is Now Here

Something to think about :o)

I am glad to hear that you are an active supporter of the Enrichment committee. It is a hard job to try to get people come! Sounds like a successful night!

Sadly I read it as No Where. What does that say about me? I'm glad you had a good night Shell. It's always good to be able to get together with other women every once in a while!!

NO WHERE! Ha ha. Oh, also about Disneyland...HAVE SO MUCH FUN! We always packed lunch in a cooler in the van and then rode the shuttle back to eat. It seemed like a nice break and was much cheaper than eating their food!

Oh you DO have a Betty Rubble laugh! I loved listening to it, but it made me miss you!!!

I read it as nowhere. Hmph, I thought I was an eternal optimist, but I suppose I'm not. Good lesson on joy.

I can't even imagine doing laughinig yoga with the ladies in my ward. I'm laughing just thinking about it! What a great idea for enrichment. Love it.
